UFC 71 WORLD LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

UFC 71: Chuck Liddell vs. Rampage Jackson
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson won’t get a few more tune up fights like he wanted before his highly anticipated showdown with UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell.
Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell and a new breed of brawlers are bringing mixed martial arts mainstream and what makes the UFC so huge today. Liddell’s reputation carries much weight in MMA. That’s nothing new to him. As a Division I wrestler in the mid-1990s, Liddell earned the same respect.
Jackson, a Pride fighter, beat Liddell at the Tokyo Dome in Japan in 2003, it remains “The Iceman’s” only unavenged loss. Of Liddell’s three career losses, that’s the only one he has yet to avenge. He beat both Jeremy Horn and Randy “The Natural” Couture after losing the first matches.
Chuck Liddell at 6-2, 204-pound Californian wears the Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight belt. He is one of the most popular fighters in UFC today and is in charge of carrying the sport into the mainstream, of giving it a reputation of something more than an organized street fight.
Liddell's work as a fighter is indisputable. With a 20-3 record, including four straight title defenses, Liddell should be feared. He hits hard. Then he hits harder. He also developed a unique ability to rarely get taken to the mat, a trait no doubt helpful when trapped in a cage for three rounds of five-minute mauling.
Despite the wrestling proficiency, Liddell prefers punching. He’s considered one of the deadliest strikers in the sport.
Chuck Liddell (-260) vs. Quinton Jackson (+200)
Karo Parisyan vs. Josh Burkman
After beating relative unknown Chad Reiner (13-2) earlier this year at UFC Fight Night 8 — his first fight and win after a six-month layoff — Josh Burkman (8-3) appears to have been rewarded with a welterweight showdown at UFC 71 against top contender Karo Parisyan (16-4).
Parisyan is 1-1 in his last two bouts after falling to Diego Sanchez then beating Drew Fickett but boasts a more experienced MMA record than Burkman earning him the favorite in the odds. Burkman on the othe hand has won 2 straight after losing to Jon Fitch. I like Burkman at +250 and hope the line goes above +300. Right now he is a solid buy but would become a lock if his number moves north of +300.
Karo Parisyan (-350) vs. Josh Burkman (+250)
