The Preakness Stakes 135 is restricted to only 14 Preakness Stakes runners and will run on May 15 at Pimlico Race Track and is the second leg of the Triple Crown. The starters will be determined with the first seven horses given preference by the highest lifetime earnings in graded stakes. The next four starters will be determined by the highest lifetime earnings in all “non-restricted stakes,” which means those stakes whose conditions contain no restrictions other than age or sex. The remaining three starters will be determined by the highest lifetime earnings in all races. There have been 21 that won two but failed to win the third race. The last horse to be awarded the Triple Crown was Affirmed in 1978. More 2010 Preakness Stakes Horse Betting Info

Schoolyard Dreams finished ahead of Super Saver in the Grade 3 Tampa Bay Derby on Mar. 13.The son of Stephen Got Even just missed losing to Odysseus by a nose with Super Saver a half-length back in third.
Schoolyard Dreams co-owner Tony Mitola had his 2010 Kentucky Derby hopes crushed when his prized colt placed 4th in the $750,000 Wood Memorial-G1 at the Aqueduct on April 4th, behind Eskendereya, Jackson bend and Awesome Act. However, there are strong hopes for the Preakness Stakes.
Schoolyard Dreams needed either a first ($450,000 winner’s share) or $150,000 second place finish earlier this month at the Aqueduct to get into the top 20 of graded earners but fell short with his forth place finish, which was worth $37,000.
