The Preakness Stakes 135 is restricted to only 14 Preakness Stakes runners and will run on May 15 at Pimlico Race Track and is the second leg of the Triple Crown. The starters will be determined with the first seven horses given preference by the highest lifetime earnings in graded stakes. The next four starters will be determined by the highest lifetime earnings in all “non-restricted stakes,” which means those stakes whose conditions contain no restrictions other than age or sex. The remaining three starters will be determined by the highest lifetime earnings in all races. There have been 21 that won two but failed to win the third race. The last horse to be awarded the Triple Crown was Affirmed in 1978. More 2010 Preakness Stakes Horse Betting Info

As a two-year-old, we saw Dublin pull out two wins in five starts for $228,000. Dublin won the Hopeful (G1) at Saratoga on September 7, followed by a 5th place effort in the Champagne (G1) at Belmont on October 10 and a disappointing 7th in the Iroquois (G3) at Churchill Downs on November 1.
Dublin has one place and two shows as a three-year-old, owned by Baker, Mack & Lukas. His trainer is four-time Derby winner D. Wayne Lukas.
Dublin has earned $373,208 this year in three starts all at Oaklawn Park. Beginning with The Southwest on February 20th, Dublin came in second. He followed up with two third place finishes; the first at Rebel Stakes on March 13th and then the Grade 2 Arkansas Derby on April 10th.
Besides having one of the most decorated trainers in horse racing history in his corner, Dublin also has an attractive pedigree to consider. He was sired by Afleet Alex, who finished third in the 2005 Kentucky Derby and went on to win both the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes.
In this years 2010 Kentucky Derby Dublin, ridden by Terry Thompson of Ankeny, made a move around the far turn to get within five lengths of the lead, but flattened out in the stretch and finished seventh.
