2008 CA Championship
The 2008 World Golf Championships-CA Championship will have an $8 million purse, with the game's top players competing for the $1.35 million first-place prize and the Gene Sarazen Cup. One of three World Golf Championships events, the CA Championship will feature the top-30 players from the final 2007 FedExCup point standings, the top-50 players from the Official World Golf Ranking the week prior and the week of the event, the top-10 players from the FedExCup point standings the week prior and the week of the event, along with leaders of the Official Money Lists/Orders of Merit from the European Tour, Australasian Tour, Japan Golf Tour, Asian Tour and Sunshine Tour.
Accenture Match Play Championship
The WGC Accenture Match Play Championship is part of the World Golf Championships series of tournaments. This event is played at match play, rather than stroke play, and begins with a field of 64 golfers. The players knock each other off until two remain for the 36-hole championship match.
2008 AT&T Pebble Beach
This is the largest pro tournament held at Pebble Beach, with celebrities such as Clint Eastwood, Bill Murray, George Lopez, and Kevin Costner, (just to name a few) playing alongside some of the golf world’s biggest and brightest stars. The antics of the players between holes are as entertaining as the tournament itself. Many legendary stories exist as a result of this long standing Pebble Beach tradition, known in the early days as “The Crosby”, named for the tournaments originator, the late Bing Crosby.
Buick Open 2008
The 2008 Buick Invitational golf tournament. (Formerly the San Diego Open) The Buick Invitational was known in some form as the San Diego Open with a number of sponsors since it's inception in 1952 and has also been associated with a celebrity name in it's storied past - Andy Williams.
2007 PGA Championship
In 2007, The Southern Hills Country Club, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, plays host to the 89th PGA Championship. The Perry Maxwell designed layout was built in 1935 and With the 2007 PGA Golf Championship, Southern Hills becomes the first course to play host to four PGA Championships. Having previously held the tournament in 1970, 1982 and 1994.
Bridgestone Invitational
One of "the World Golf Championship's" most exciting events, the Bridgestone Invitational attracts some of the game's best players ala Tiger Woods, who has dominated this tournament since 1999. Tiger Woods has won this tournament - which was originally called the World Series of Golf - five times. The Firestone Country Club in Akron, OH will challenge Tiger and the rest of the field in 2007.
2007 British Open
The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews have announced that the 136th open Championship will be held at Carnoustie from 19th - 22nd July 2007.
The Open Championship returns to Carnoustie Golf Links, in July 2007 for the first time since 1999 when the worlds' greatest golfers will gather to do battle for the famous Claret Jug.
2007 Open at Oakmont Country Club
