2007 NFC WILD CARD PLAYOFFS RESULTS

Washington Redskins Vs. Seattle Seahawks
Saturday, January 5, 2008. 4:40 P.M. ET

Starting with the first NFC playoff game - the Washington Redskins and the Seattle Seahawks.

The game will be played on Saturday at Qwest Field in Seattle, WA and the Seahawks have been posted as the favorite to win this wild card playoff game. The odds on the Seattle Seahawks to win are posted at -190 and the odds on the Redskins to continue in the chase for the Super Bowl are sitting at underdog +160. The point spread on the Washington Redskins vs. Seattle Seahawks game is sitting at -3 points.

Washington Redskins Vs. Seattle Seahawks Betting Picks

Washington
Seattle  -3.5  40

Both team are peaking right now, the Redskins are riding a 4 game winning streak and are playing for a fallen teammate while the Seattle D has become a premier defense in the league that demands respect.  Todd Collins is at the helm for an injured Jason Campbell and although he threw for 244 yards against Dallas I think he will find it alot tougher to operate in Seattle especially with Patrick Kerny (14.5 sacks) breathing down his neck.  The Seahawks D has only allowed 18.2 points a game and against a career backup guy like Collins its going to be a long night for the Redskins.  The once laughable Seattle run D is also peaking at the right time constantly shuting down opposing RB’s.  The Seattle offense has adjusted quite nicely in the wake of Shaun Alexanders dismal season and is mixing it up more and more to become balanced and starting to put teams away instead of letting them stay in it as was their usual practice.  DJ Hackett getting hurt has opened the door for Bobby Engram who has become a top WR  and allows the spread offense to keep opposing defenses guessing.  Washington’s run defense has been a little above average so I don’t expect Alexander to have much of a game and he will most likely be splitting carries with Mo Morris who has been exceptional in his backup role and good at getting the pressure off Hasselbeck.  The play is Seattle -3.5, they are waaay too tough at home where they have only lost once this year and the entire defense is going to chew up Todd Collins, Joe Gibbs will be forced to go to the run nearly the entire gamea which won’t be enough to keep up with Hasselbeck and company in the air.  I’m looking for the under 40 in this game as well somthing like 14 - 24. Washington Redskins Vs. Seattle Seahawks Results

Final Score: Seattle 35, Washington 14.

Washington Redskins at Seattle Seahawks, 14-35 Seattle

Seattle held control of the temo of the game and the defense held Washington scoreless throught the 3rd quarter when a Seattle offensive melt down occurred and they relinqueshed there lead and found themselves tied 14-14 when the defense made an outstanding stop and forced the Redskins to punt setting up a drive that led to a 20 yard pass from Matt Hasselbeck to DJ Hackett giving the Seahawks a 21-14 lead with 6 minutes left on the clock from there on in it was all defense and the Seahawks went on to score twice before the final horn blew.

2007 NFC WILD CARD PLAYOFFS RESULTS

New York Giants Vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sunday, January 6, 2008. 1:00 P.M. ET

On Sunday their are two more wild card playoff games. Starting with the NFC playoff matchup between the New York Giants and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers are the favorite team to win this NFC playoff game, listed with odds -150 , the odds on the Giants to continue in the playoffs are sitting at dog +130. The point spread on the New York Giants vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers is favoring the Buccaneers -3 points, with the total of 40 points.

New York Giants Vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Betting Picks

NY Giants
Tampa Bay  -2.5  39.5

Tampa has been under the radar the whole season and really aren’t doing anything special except playing solid football and winning games, they got hurt early in the season with the loss of Cadillac Williams due to injury, but Ernest Graham has stepped up to the call of duty quite nicely not turning the ball over and getting the yards that mean the difference in winning and losing.  Jeff Garcia is also in a sort of Joe Montana-esk way getting the job done and putting up W’s.  The Bucs are solid, but I don’t think they have what it takes to go far in the playoffs as much momentum as the Giants are riding right now with nearly beating the Pats (only losing by 3 points is a Giants victory as far as I’m concerned) Eli Manning had a great game against the NE defense as well as Brandon Jacobs who had a great night.  The Tampa D is tough, but if Eli and company come to play I’m not sure the Bucs can stop them, Eli was looking good last week and everyoen seems to be healthy so the play is los Gigantes de Nueva York on the moneyline if you can get it, otherwise just take the points. More Picks Click Here!

New York Giants Vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Results

Final Score: NY Giants 24, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 14.

NY Giants at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 24-14 NY Giants

The Bucs jumped out to an early lead by exposing the Giants aggresiveness on the front line and their negligence of the flat. But that would not last long as the Giants D regained composure and forced Garcia to to make some bad throws. The Giants offense also kicked it into gear and the two pronged attack of Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw combining for 110 yards proved to be too much as the Giants took the lead in the second quarter and never gave it up.
