Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 saw one of the wildest finishes in recent memory as the nearly every one in the field stretched the fuel mileage and the race was pushed into a green-white-checkered finish.

When Kasey Kahne ran out of gas on the final restart in the lead, Dale Earnhardt Jr. moved into the top spot. As Kahne and Jeff Burton wrecked behind him, no caution was thrown and the fan favorite took the white flag in the lead. Going down the backstretch on the final lap, Earnhardt Jr. ran out of gas, allowing Kevin Harvick to take the lead coming off the final corner.

Coca-Cola 600 winner Kurt Busch completed a sweep of NASCAR's May stay at Charlotte Motor Speedway and kept Chip Ganassi from notching an unprecedented weekend sweep of his own.

After beating Jamie McMurray out of the pits on his last stop, Kurt Busch passed Jeff Gordon on a restart with 19 laps remaining to win the Coca-Cola 600 Sunday night.

"We're going to the real victory lane in Charlotte," Busch shouted on his team radio before turning his signature victory lap in reverse on the 1.5-mile oval.

In 2009, NASCAR called the event after 227 of a scheduled 400 laps. That made a first-time winner of Reutimann, who parlayed a strategic call by crew chief Rodney Childers into the unlikely victory.

Reutimann is in his third Cup season and previously won in the Camping World Truck and Nationwide series. He became the latest to earn his inaugural Cup victory in NASCAR's longest race, joining David Pearson (1961), Jeff Gordon ('94), Bobby Labonte ('95), Matt Kenseth (2000) and Casey Mears ('07).
