It doesn't get any more dramatic than the Texas 500, the third to final race of NASCAR's Sprint Cup season. Texas 500 is a relatively new race on the NASCAR circuit, having completed its inaugural race in November of 2005 at the Texas Motor Speedway. Texas Motor Speedway is found in Fort Worth, Texes. A mile and a half of track with tight banked turns and a slightly curved straightaway, Texas Motor Speedway was built to emulate the famous Lowes Motor Speedway, one of the toughest NASCAR tracks.

The Texas Motor Speedway is known for being fast. Really fast. Due to the high speed reports on qualification from 2004 and 2005, the Texas Motor Speedway can now be considered the fastest non-restrictor plate track on the NASCAR circuit. With on track qualifying speeds of 200mph, the action is electric. Drivers can plow into the turns at high speed and come out even faster.

These are drivers averaging upwards of one hundred miles per hours, making minute adjustments to steering with only fractions of seconds to react and that's not even counting when there is an accident. Nascar fans love to bet on their favorite driver's race around the 1.5 mile track.

Completing a sweep at Texas Motor Speedway, Hamlin won the AAA Texas 500 and took the points lead in the Chase for the Sprint Cup with two races left in the NASCAR season.

"It's a great feeling," said Hamlin, who led the final 29 laps in outdueling runner-up Matt Kenseth. "I had to drive my heart out to do it."

Hamlin, whose No. 11 Toyota entered the race 14 points behind Jimmie Johnson, leads the four-time defending champion (whose No. 48 Chevrolet was ninth) by 33 points and Kevin Harvick (sixth) by 59 points.

Dickies 500 winner Kurt Busch, Driver Of The NO. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger - Busch survived a fuel finish that saw fellow contender Kyle Busch, who was attempting to sweep the weekend, run dry during the closing laps.

Busch had the second best car out there all day long, and with $1 million on the line for a fan, Busch not only wanted to win, he needed to win. Busch won in a big way on Sunday. Busch and his team were not the betting favorites on Sunday, but they certainly proved a lot of people wrong.
