Week 2 college Football Betting Picks
Now it's time for the College betting fanatics to turn their focus to Week 2. The action begins on Thursday with South Carolina at Vanderbilt on ESPN and the late game Saturday Night with Miami at Florida.
South Carolina at Vanderbilt Picks
South Carolina vs Vanderbilt
8:30 PM ET, September 4, 2008
Vanderbilt Stadium , Nashville , TN
Spread: South Carolina -10
My Pick: Vandy in trouble, they may have won in week 1, but they did it with the quarterback rushing for more than the starting RB, and a grand total of 91 passing yards. If this is the way Vandy expects to win games this year they are in for a rude awakening. I don't care how shifty and agile this Chris Nickson is, there is no way hes going to get away with this against the likes of South Carolina. When you look at what the Gamecocks did last week they are going to be contenders in their conference. While I don't envy his last name, Chris Smelley seems to have settled the QB controversy throwing for 2 TD's compared to Tommy Beecher's 0 TD's and 4 INT's. RB Mike Davis also made a statement with 101 yds averaging 7.2 yards a carry and a TD to boot. 10 points is not nearly enough, I'm looking for the Gamecocks to demoralize Vandy in their own house and I mean BAD!!! Take South Carolina right now before they get wise and move it up to -14 which still won't be enough.
Week 2 will finish with a Saturday Night Football contest between Miami at Florida at Florida Field.
Miami at Florida Picks
Miami FL vs Florida
8:00 PM ET, September 6, 2008
Florida Field , Gainesville , FL
Spread: Florida -21.5
My Pick: This is a golden opportunity!!! Everyone knows that Miami playing in any part of the state of Florida is dangerous and continually upsets big name rivals when they weren't given a snowball's chance in hell to win, they at least cover. 21.5!!! Are you out of your freakin mind! This is Miami we are talking about, don't be foolish. Miami's QB Jacory Harris isn't the best, but he was solid enough in week 1 and didn't turn over the ball. The ground attack was consistant enough to control the clock and they did an overall decent job. Granted Florida is in another league compared to the Cane's, but more than 3 TD's is waaaay too much. Sure Tebow is the man and the Gators Defense is something to fear, you cannot in good conscience expect them to cover that many points. You have to act fast and take Miami plus the 21.5 before the bookies get wise and move the line down. This is GOLD Jerry GOLD!!!
