The Pure Michigan 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race will take place at MIS on Sunday, Aug. 21. Michigan is now one of the fastest tracks in NASCAR due to its wide, sweeping corners and long straightaways, typical qualifying speeds are in excess of 190 mph and corner entry speeds easily exceed 200 mph.
The key to making a successful bet on NASCAR this race is, picking a driver with endurance, and experience is a very important factor in any sport, but age seems to wear down most athletes. NASCAR betting seems to be the exception, as drivers get better with age.
Bet on Michigan International Speedway odds for an incredible fall NASCAR Race with the Pure Michigan 400 (formerly known as the CARFAX 400). The Pure Michigan 400 was the called the Yankee 600 when it launched in 1969. It became a 400-mile, 200-lap race in 1970. Subsequent title sponsors have been Champion Spark Plug, General Motors' Goodwrench brand, DeVilbiss, Pepsi, GFS Marketplace, 3M Performance, the Miller High Life 400, the Miller Genuine Draft 400, the K-Mart 400, and in 2005, the Batman Begins 400. This always-excting race comes at a pivotal point in the season, where the series top drivers look to cement their position in the Sprint Cup standings.
The Pure Michigan 400 is one of the two NASCAR Sprint Cup races run at one of the sport's fastest ovals, Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn,
Michigan. Although there is nothing particularly unique about the configuration of Michigan International, the two-mile superspeedway allows drivers to easily exceed 200 mph and that makes for some of the most thrilling races on the NASCAR schedule.
