Capital One Bowl Betting Tips

One of the first things to look for when examining the college football bowl odds is the current form of the teams. Some teams are coming into the bowl game playing very well, while others are coming in flat or disappointed. Motivation is a big key factor when it comes to looking at college football bowl betting lines, we also have to look at other things. Schedule strength, turnovers, recent form, and overall team power ratings are things to consider as the bowl games begin. You also want to take the individual game odds into consideration.

Capital One Bowl Picks - Nebraska vs. South Carolina

Need some BCS Championship Game Betting Tips to cash in big this holiday season? Well you've come to the right place, as we get set to preview each college bowl and picks on this year's Cotton Bowl.In what might be the quickest bowl game of the year with very little passing, look for Nebraska (9-3, 4-7-1 ATS) to rush its way past South Carolina (10-2, 6-6 ATS) in CFB betting in the Capital One Bowl from the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL on Monday, January 2nd at 1:00 ET in a game televised on ESPN, ESPN 3D, and ESPN3.com.

South Carolina would break a school record for football wins in a season if it can notch its 11th win here on the CFB betting lines, but this is a team that has lost three straight bowl games and none of those teams it lost to (Iowa in 2008, Connecticut in 2009 and Florida State last year) were probably as good as this Nebraska opponent this season.

Nebraska is looking to erase the memory of losing to Washington 19-7 as a 13½-point favorite in the Holiday Bowl last season, but that was a mostly disinterested team that had just lost a thriller to Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship Game, while this is a chance to make a mark in the Cornhuskers’ first year in the Big Ten in a much better bowl game vs. an SEC opponent. For over half a century the Capital One Bowl has been a steadfast part of Florida 's history. The Capital One Bowl games are rich with tradition that is so much more than just a Big Ten Conference game and though it has undergone several name and location changes, the Bowl Game itself remains the same important part of college football culture.

Various other names have been used in reference to the Capital One Bowl. The first Capital One Bowl game took place in 1947. From 1947 until 198, the Capital One Bowl was known as the Tangerine Bowl, and then was known as the Florida Citrus Bowl from 1983-2002. Since 2003, when Capital One signed on as a sponsor, it has been known as the Capital One Bowl.
