Brickyard 400 (formerly the Allstate 400) The Brickyard 400, or the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, is a Sprint Cup NASCAR race that takes place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway just outside of Indianapolis, Indiana. Motor vehicles have been raced at Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 1909, but it wasn't until 1994 that NASCAR hosted its first event at the famous race track. Nicknamed "The Brickyard," because the surface of the 2 1/2-mile oval track consisted of 3.2 million bricks in the past. A single strip of bricks, called the "yard of bricks," remains at the track's start/finish line. NASCAR borrowed the nickname for its four hundred mile race in Indianapolis and the race quickly became a highlight on the NASCAR schedule for many fans of the sport.

Behind the Daytona 500, the annual Allstate 400 at the Brickyard is arguably the second-most coveted checkered flag on the NASCAR circuit. 2010 Bickyard 400 Results - The driver of the No. 1 Chevrolet remained No.1 in NASCAR's most prestigious races, and the car's owner still owns the world's most famous racetrack.

Good things came in threes Sunday at Chip Ganassi. Passing Kevin Harvick for the lead on a restart with 11 laps remaining, McMurray became the third driver to win the Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400 in the same season. His fifth career victory made Ganassi the first to field winning cars in the Daytona 500, Indianapolis 500 (Dario Franchitti) and Brickyard during the same year.

In 2009, for most of the race, Juan Pablo Montoya (in the 42 car) was in the clear lead for well over 100 laps. Deep into the race, apparently Dale Earnhardt Jr's vehicle starts smoking and checks into pit row where Montoya was making a final pit stop. Then Montoya gets penalized for going BARELY over the speed limit for pit row. His loss was Jimmie Johnson's gain, as he managed to hold off Mark Martin and get the checkered flag. This marks Johnson's second win at the Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis.
