NCAA Football Odds
Florida State Seminoles: -10
In QB Jameis Winston we trust. That's the slogan this year at Florida State. It isn't all that often that the Noles have to turn to a freshman to start, but the fans in Tallahassee are ranting and raving about Winston the same way that the fans in College Station were ranting and raving about QB Johnny Manziel last season.
Winston has seven starters back from last season's team, but the three important cogs are the ones along the offensive line. WR Rashad Greene could be an All-ACC player easily, and the combination of RB Devonta Freeman and RB James Wilder Jr. could be the best tandem in the league as well. Florida State has the goods to beat the NCAA football betting odds for sure against anyone in the ACC, as it proved last season when it only was beaten by the NC State Wolfpack in conference.
There are some issues on the other side of the ball where only four starters return, but Head Coach Jimbo Fisher knows that this defense still has the ability to dominate as last year's did as well when it allowed just 253.8 yards and 14.7 points per game.
The Panthers have been a shaky Big East team for the last several seasons, and this year, they are taking the big step up and are going to try to beat the NCAA football gambling odds against the ACC.
QB Tino Sunseri and RB Ray Graham are both gone, and with that goes 33 of the team's 40 touchdowns from last season. WR Devin Street is going to be about the only big time player on the offensive side of the ball with any experience, and if QB Tom Savage doesn't turn out to be right on the top of his game from the get go, the Panthers will be destroyed on the NCAA football wagering odds for sure against the garnet and gold.
Free Pick – The Panthers are playing their first game in the ACC in this one, and they couldn't ask for a much tougher foe. Yes, Florida State only went 4-9-1 ATS last season, but it has a new lease on life with a new quarterback in Winston who could lead the team to the next level. Don't be all that shocked if the Noles get up early in this one and put this game to rest by halftime, sending a statement to the rest of the country that they are going to be tough cookies to beat this year.
