The Samsung/Radio Shack 500 is a week-long celebration of NASCAR held every April in Justin, Texas at the Texas Motor Speedway. Several celebrities take part in this racing festival at the Texas Motor Speedway, those making an appearance at a recent Samsung/Radio Shack 500 include Troy Aikman and Britney Spears.
The Samsung 500 only comes around once a year and starts early in the NASCAR season. Just weeks after the Daytona 500, the Samsung 500 offers a chance for NASCAR drivers to get an early edge on the competition. But it isn’t easy and nobody dominates this race. In fact, in the first dozen years of its existence the Samsung 500 saw just as many winners. Names like Greg Biffle, Matt Kenseth, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. highlight the winners list of the Samsung 500.

Texas Motor Speedway Fun Facts and Tips
The Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas is dubbed “The Great American Speedway” and is the 2nd largest sports facility in America. Construction on this 1.5 mile, intermediate, quad oval track began in 1995. Basically, it has been referred to as an intermediate track, or a cookie cutter. Texas Motor Speedway was once considered the fastest non-restrictor plate track on the NASCAR circuit, with qualifying speeds in excess of 192 mph and corner entry speeds over 200 mph. However, as the tracks' respective racing surfaces continue to wear, qualifying speeds at Atlanta have become consistently faster.
You will likely see the same cast of characters at the front of the pack- Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth, Kyle Busch, and Jeff Burton. Which star of NASCAR will get to wear the cowboy hat and fire the six-shooters in Victory Lane. Bet Samsung - Radio Shack 500 Odds Today
2011 Samsung Mobile 500 Results
Matt Kenseth finally found himself back in winning ways after a two year absence from Victory Lane with a dominant win in the Texas night race that saw him lead for 169 of the 334 laps despite fuel issues at one point. The driver who appeared to be his biggest threat in the final stages, Tony Stewart, actually ran out of fuel on the last lap and fell from third to 12th place in the space of that one last revolution, leaving second to Clint Bowyer and third to Carl Edwards, who had been suffering from a case of food poisoning.
The biggest wreck of the night at Texas Motor Speedway occurred on lap 214 when light contact between Martin Truex Jr. and Kevin Harvick caught up Regan Smith and Mark Martin in a crunching pile-up. Truex, Smith and Martin all went to the garage with heavy damage, while Harvick followed up consecutive race wins with a disappointing 20th place at Texas after going two laps down.
2010 Samsung/RadioShack 500 Results
Jeff Gordon won the Samsung 500 on Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway.
Texas Motor Speedway has bit the four-time champ more times than he'd like to remember. In the Samsung 500 last year, the sleep-deprived new father spun off of Turn 4 on Lap 109 and finished 43rd. Gordon's only other last-place Cup finish also came in this race at Texas in 1999 when the No. 24 car's tire blew on Lap 70 in Turn 4 — experiencing a vicious hit that haunted him for years.
But Sunday's run was nearly flawless. Gordon started from the front row and took the lead on the first lap. He led six times throughout the race for a total of 105 laps. However, it was his ability to regain the lead out of the pits for the sixth and final time on Lap 307 that enabled Gordon to end the drought and score his 82nd career victory.
