NFL bettors prepare for this weeks Divisional Round betting odds of the 2012 NFL Playoffs, one of the marquee games will be taking place in San Francisco, where the 49ers, the NFC's second seed, square off against the third-seeded New Orleans Saints.
The San Francisco 49ers watched the New Orleans Saints put on a show in their first-round game against the Detroit Lions, setting offensive yardage records under the leadership of quarterback Drew Brees, with a 45-28 blow out win. Now the Niners will prepare for Saturday's game at at Candlestick Park, when the Saints come to town for the second round of playoffs.
Critics and Niner fans are already pointing out how the Saints have not won a playoff game on the road, citing last year's loss against the Seattle Seahawks as an example. New Orleans must face the rugged 49ers defense and leave the comforts of the Superdome to play a road game outdoors. The Saints never have won a road playoff game. The defense surrendered 211 receiving yards to Lions WR Calvin Johnson. But the 49ers ranked 26th in the league in total offense during the regular season.
No one believed that the San Francisco 49ers were really good enough to win the NFC this entire season and now, they have a chance to beat the NFL betting odds against one of the best teams in the league, the New Orleans Saints with a spot in the NFC Championship Game on the line.
The 49ers are ranked eighth in the league in rushing offense. They were fourth in the league in total defense and second in scoring defense, and they had an NFL-best turnover margin of plus-28. The 49ers will try to prevent a passing duel between Alex Smith and Brees. Smith was efficient during the regular season, with 17 TD passes and only five interceptions, but had 2,332 fewer passing yards than the New Orleans quarterback.

The NFC West champion San Francisco 49ers (13-3, 12-3-1 ATS) will look to write a successful NFL playoff betting chapter in their seasonal log when they host the New Orleans Saints (14-3, 13-4 ATS) in the divisional round on Saturday, January 14, 2012; kick-off from Candlestick Park is set to go live on FOX at 4:30 ET.
