Fran Tarkenton and company could never win the big game as the Vikings are still looking for their first Super Bowl victory.

Though the Vikings have been one of the dominant teams in the Central and North divisions of the NFL, they have not made it back to the Super Bowl since 1976. This comes in spite of having one of the more talented teams in the NFC since the turn of the millennium. They drafted a great receiver in Randy Moss during the Dennis Green and Mike Tice eras, but he eventually left the team. Later Brad Childress would build this franchise around star running back Adrian Peterson who led them to the NFC championship in 2009.
