In recent years the success of Ferrari at the Italian Grand Prix has overshadowed the tragic history of the race, and the Italian Grand Prix has developed into a celebration of Italian racing culture.

The Monza race track includes a banked oval section which makes for brilliant racing. There are 53 laps with a circuit length of 5.793km and a race distance of 306.720km. The list of famous victories and horrifying accidents is well documented, which combine to make Monza one of the most magical places on the Formula One calendar. Some would say there is nowhere that embodies the sport better than the Monza circuit. The Italians call it "La Pista Magica," the magic track. The track record is 1.21.046 which was recorded by Rubens Barrichello in 2004.
