 The 2008 Buick Invitational golf tournament. (Formerly the San Diego Open) The Buick Invitational was known in some form as the San Diego Open with a number of sponsors since it's inception in 1952 and has also been associated with a celebrity name in it's storied past - Andy Williams.

Tiger Woods won the 2007 Buick Invitational with rounds of 66-72-69-66 for a 15-under total of 273. Woods started the day two shots off the lead, but surged on the back nine while others faltered, winning his 3rd straight here.

Buick Open History
The first Buick Open was held in 1958 and won by Billy Casper. After 1969, professional golf events in the area fell off the PGA Tour schedule and a series of pro-ams and other similarly unofficial events took place, mostly at Flint Elks Country Club in Grand Blanc.
The Buick Open made its return to the PGA Tour in 1977 at Flint Elks CC, and in 1978 the event returned to Warwick Hills G&CC, where it has remained to the present.
Played at one of the highest-rated golf courses in Michigan, Bet on some of the world's best professional golfers. Since 1998, the winner of the Buick Open has won with a score of 17-under or better.
The 17th hole at Warwick, a par 3, is known for having one of the rowdiest galleries in professional golf. The hole is also known by locals, and some PGA players, as the second largest outdoor cocktail party in the world.
The 18-hole "Warwick Hills" course at the Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club facility in Grand Blanc, Michigan features 7,101 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 74.3 and it has a slope rating of 133 on Bent grass. Designed by Joe Lee, the Warwick Hills golf course opened in 1958. Richard L. Fairman manages the course as the General Manager.
