The Ultimate Fighting Championship is coming at FULL FORCE as world champion cage fighters defend their titles in the luxurious MGM Grand Arena. UFC 56 Full Force - will feature the Middleweight Champion Rich Franklin (20-1-0) from Cincinnati, Ohio defending his title for the first time since June 2005 at UFC 53. Welterweight Champ Matt Hughes (39-4-0) is the other top champion fighters for these action packed fights. They will be several hungry young fighters dying to take them on and claim the championship title! UFC 56: FULL FORCE. The event will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Saturday, Nov. 19 and doors will open at 4 p.m.
Karo Parisyan will be out, But "The Diesel" Riggs will not miss the chance at Hughes title belt.
Due to a leg injury, Karo Parisyan has had to pull out of his title fight against UFC® Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes at UFC 56: FULL FORCE Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Parisyan’s physician has stated he will recover from the injury, but not in time to compete in the UFC 56 Full Force against Matt Hughes. Joe “Diesel” Riggs will instead step into the octagon for a shot at the title. A former heavyweight, who in dropping down to welterweight has gained speed and conditioning, but has kept much of that heavyweight power. Riggs (26-6-0) 6'0"/170 lbs., fighting out of Phoenix, Ariz.

Rich Franklin (20-1-0) 6’1”/185 lbs. from Cincinnati, OH is the UFC Middleweight Champion. He will square off against
Nate “Rock” Quarry (14-1) 6’0”/185 lbs., fighting out of Gresham, OR, for his first title defense since capturing the belt from Evan Tanner by doctor stoppage at UFC 53 in June 2005.
Quarry, who trains with the highly respected Team Quest fight club, is coming off a series of knockout victories including Pete Sell at Ultimate Fight Night (8/6/05), Shonie Carter at UFC 53 (6/4/05) and Lodune Sincaid at The Ultimate Fighter Season 1 finale (4/9/05).

Matt Hughes (Champion) vs. Joe "Diesel" Riggs (Challenger)
UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes (39-4-0) 5’9”/170 lbs., hailing from Hillsboro, IL will square off against Joe
"The Diesel" Riggs. Riggs (26-6-0) 6'0"/170 lbs., fighting out of Phoenix, Ariz. Hughes re-gained the welterweight crown at UFC 50 (10/22/04) in Atlantic City by stopping Georges St. Pierre with an arm bar at 4:59 of the first round and then defended his title at UFC 52 in Las Vegas (4/16/05) against Frank Trigg, winning by a spectacular rear naked choke. Joe "The Diesel" Rigs just defeated Chris Lytle at UFC 55: FURY (10/7/05) by TKO at 2:00 of the second round, becoming the first man ever to finish the veteran fighter. Riggs is excited about his upcoming opportunity and is ready to battle Hughes for the welterweight crown.
Also Announced: Georges St. Pierre vs. Sean Sherk
welterweight matchup between Georges St. Pierre (10-1-0) 5’10”/170 lbs. fighting out of Montreal, Quebec, Canada and Sean Sherk (33-1-1) 5’6”/170 lbs. fighting out of Oak Grove, MN. St. Pierre, known for his versatility and incredible athleticism, is pound-for-pound one of the most talented fighters in the UFC. Sherk has an impressive 33-1-1 MMA record, including a current 12-bout winning streak and is a strong fighter with top-notch wrestling skills. Both fighters are looking for a victory to position themselves for a shot at the welterweight crown.
