The Peach Bowl was founded in 1968 with no conference attachments,The Peach Bowl game was held for the first time on December 30th, 1968. The game was between LSU and Florida State with LSU winning 31-27. Attendance varied accordingly, from a little over 20,000 to nearly 60,000. The Peach Bowl has sence then moved into the Georgia Dome in 1993 from Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium has now brought much bigger crowds to the bowl games.

The Peach Bowl was first recognized officially as part of the NCAA post-season in 1968. Since 1996, it has carried the namebPeach Bowl, and as the event has grown, so have its scholarship and charitable contributions, now totally in the millions of dollars. It is held at the Georgia Dome, which is the home of the National Football League's Atlanta Falcons. As high as a 27-story building with a roof made of fiberglass panels coated in Teflon, the Georgia Dome is holds over 71,500 sports fans, and attendance at the Peach Bowl has maxed out in recent years.
