Pacquiao Vs. Barrera 2 Boxing Odds

WILL TO WIN - PACQUIAO Vs. BARRERA II

Saturday, October 6, 2007

Distributed By Canadastar Boxing

On Closed Circuit-Pay Per View

Pacquiao Vs Barrera IIManny Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera will collide in a 12-round super featherweight title fight, Saturday, October 6. Promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank, the Pacquiao-Barrera championship rumble will take pace at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino and broadcast live on HBO Pay-Per-View. It's going to be another exciting night for fight fans. Pacquiao, at 28, is on his prime while Barrera, at 33, is considering this fight to be his last. Will Barrera, badly beaten by Pacquiao in their first encounter, muster enough tricks from his brilliant boxing career to make this a competitive fight or will Pacquiao, like what he did to Morales in their 3rd encounter, bulldozed an aging Barrera into an early submission?

Manny Pacquiao entered the big-time with his upset victory over Marco Antonio Barrera nearly four years ago. It was an awesome display of ferocious power as Pacquiao’s relentless style proved too much for the Mexican warrior. With only seconds remaining in the eleventh round, Barrera covered-up against a barrage of punches which prompted his corner to stop the assault. Barrera has wanted a rematch with Pacquiao ever since losing to him in 2003.

Pacquiao Vs. Barrera is a battle between legendary three-division world champions. Pacquiao (44-3-2, 35 KOs), of General Santos City. The Philippino "Pacquiao", defeated Barrera (63-5, 42 KOs), of Mexico City, Mexico, in their exciting first encounter in 2003, claiming the 'Baby Face Assassin's' featherweight title. Pacquiao is considered by many, boxing's pound for pound most exciting fighter. A lot of Mexican pride will be a stake for Barrera who is said to be hanging up the gloves after Pacquiao-Barrera II. Besides being a rematch the fight will also be for the WBC International Super Featherweight Title.

The Pacquiao-Morales trilogy has produced over one million pay-per-view sales, a record for the lower weight divisions proving that Pacquiao is a pay-per-view star. The live attendance for their rubber match rumble last November produced a live gate of 18,276, fifth-best on Las Vegas' all-time list.

Marco Antonio "Baby Faced Assassin" Barrera (63-5-0, 42 KOs)

Marco Antonio Barrera having turned pro at the age of 15 has earned world titles in three weight classes from Super Bantamweight to Super Featherweight. He is currently rated Ring Magazine number 3 Junior Lightweight (130 lbs) Champion.

For Manny Pacquiao this is an essential fight so he can demonstrate, once and for all, that he is the king of the division Pacquiao has blitzed through the best fighters Mexico had to offer since 2003, including Morales (KO 3, TKO 10), Barrera (TKO 11), Oscar Larios (W 12), Emanuel Lucero (TKO 3), Hector Velazquez (TKO 6) and Jorge Solis (KO 8). The only "blemish" was a draw against Juan Manuel Marquez in 2004, where Pacquiao sent Marquez to the canvas three times in the first round.
