Julio Cesar Chavez Jr vs Alfonso Gomez Odds

On December 4, two of the most well known Mexican fighters today will square off at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California in a Top Rank's 2010 pay-per-view finale and will be televised Live on Pay-Per-View, beginning at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.
Labeled "In Harm's Way" will feature The Son of the Legend and undefeated No. 1 contender Julio Cesar Chavez Junior (41-0-1, 30 KOs), of Culiacan, México, defending his World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver middleweight title against The Contender alumnus and Top-Five contender Alfonso Gomez (22-4-2, 11 KOs), of Guadalajara, México, in a 12-round fight of seismic proportions.
Both are coming off the biggest, most significant wins of their careers, and this fight will prove to be a defining moment for each man.
Chavez, now with ace trainer Freddie Roach, has boxed as high as 160-pounds before, and with him being the taller of the two men, with a longer reach, he has to fancy his chances big time. Chavez Jr, is also a harder puncher than Gomez. Indeed, when you add up all the statistics, it really does look as though Gomez has some hard night ahead of him.
Gomez, five years older than Chavez at age 29 and currently 22-4-2(11), certainly wants the fight badly. Even though he is far happier and more effective as a 147-pounder, Gomez is willing to move up to 154 for this big chance. Convinced for some time now that he has the beating of Chavez Jr, Gomez wants to prove it.
Alfonso Gomez’s most well-known fights are victories over badly faded versions of Arturo Gatti and Jose Luis Castillo. His biggest step up in class was a 2008 welterweight fight against Miguel Cotto, which saw Gomez dominated and stopped after several knockdowns.
The undercard features WBC lightweight titlist Humberto Soto vs. Urbano Antillion, and Nonito Donaire vs. Volodymyr Sydorenko.
