2012 Cotton Bowl Picks - Kansas State vs. Arkansas
Need some BCS Championship Game Betting Tips to cash in big this holiday season? Well you've come to the right place, as we get set to preview each college bowl and picks on this year's Cotton Bowl.
Kansas State (10-2, 9-3 ATS) was one of the best teams in the country this season in CFB betting at 75 percent, but we feel this is a big jump in class for them, taking on Arkansas (10-2, 7-5 ATS) out of the SEC in the Cotton Bowl from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX on Friday, January 6th at 8:00 ET on FOX.
Now we are not totally dismissing what Kansas State has done this season, as Coach Bill Snyder has gotten them to overachieve on the CFB betting lines based on everyone’s preseason expectations, but the Wildcats have not really accumulated gaudy yardage stats offensively, and that was vs. mostly bad defenses in the Big 12.
Meanwhile, Arkansas has very good offensive numbers despite facing mostly great defenses of the SEC, especially playing in the South Division, and don’t forget that the Razorbacks’ only two losses came vs. the two best teams in the country both on the road! More

Cotton Bowl History
The first Cotton Bowl was actually a post-season game between two high school teams on New Years Day of 1936. The following year, college teams replaced the high school teams. The game was originally played in Dallas's Fair Park Stadium. In 1938, it moved into its own stadium, which is named for the game. Mobil Corporation sponsored the Cotton Bowl from 1988 through 1995. Since 1996, Southwestern Bell has been the sponsor.
The Cotton Bowl was played on Dec. 31 following the 1966 season. In all other years, it has taken place on Jan. 1. From the 1942 season through the 1994 season, the game matched the SWC champion against an at-large opponent. Currently, teams from the Big 12 and the SEC participate in the Cotton Bowl.
The Cotton Bowl is United States college football game played annually since 1937 in Dallas, Texas. For 40 years the champion of the now-defunct Southwest Conference played as the home team in the Cotton Bowl. When the conference folded in 1996, the bowl lost much of its stature. It now matches teams from the Big Twelve Conference and Southeastern Conference.
