The world will gather at Doral's "Blue Monster" course at what is sure to be one of the Tour's most challenging tournaments, the World Golf Championships - Cadillac Championship. The World Golf Championships events feature players from around the world competing against one another in varied formats (match play, stroke and team). The World Golf Championships feature some of the largest purses in professional golf.

The WGC-Cadillac Championship is the second of the year's World Golf Championship events where the world's top golfers from all of the tours come together and fight it out for huge prize-money. The WGC Cadillac Championship will have an $8 million purse, with the game's top players competing for the $1.35 million first-place prize and the Gene Sarazen Cup. One of four World Golf Championships events, the CA Championship will feature the top-30 players from the final 2011 FedExCup point standings, the top-50 players from the Official World Golf Ranking the week prior and the week of the event, the top-10 players from the FedExCup point standings the week prior and the week of the event, along with leaders of the Official Money Lists/Orders of Merit from the European Tour, Australasian Tour, Japan Golf Tour, Asian Tour and Sunshine Tour.

Some of golf's best players have emerged victorious during the tournament's history. Woods counts six victories in this tournament among his 15 World Golf Championships titles. He won the inaugural event in 1999 at Valderrama in Spain and followed that up with victories in 2002 in Ireland, in 2003 and 2005 in the United States, 2006 in London and earlier this year at Doral Golf Resort & Spa. In 2000, Canadian Mike Weir captured the title, and in 2004, Els of South Africa triumphed.

The way Nick Watney is playing golf these days, his caddie, Chad Reynolds, is going to have a ponytail before long. Watney knocked in a 25-foot putt for par on the 16th hole and a 12-foot birdie putt on the demanding final hole to hold off a crowded leaderboard Sunday to win the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship at TPC Blue Monster. In earning his third PGA Tour title, Watney held off Dustin Johnson by two shots on a day when eight players were within two shots of the lead at one time or another. And per their agreement, Reynolds now must go at least another week without a haircut.

Watney closed with a 5-under-par 67 to finish at 16-under 272. Johnson, the overnight leader by two, finished with a 71. Anders Hansen (67) and Francesco Molinari (69) were three back in a tie for third.
