Formally known as the Bank of America 500, has now been renamed to the NASCAR Banking 500. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series betting action, heads home this weekend, to the Charlotte Motor Speedway, (formerly Lowe's Motor Speedway) in October 2011 for the NASCAR Banking 500 under the lights. The first race is the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race starts in May. One week later it's the running of the Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day and now, The Bank of America 500 on Oct. 15 completes the trifecta.

After competing in the NASCAR Banking 500 the drivers of the Sprint Cup Series will move on to Martinsville Speedway for the Tums Fast Relief 500 in October. The rest of the Chase schedule then includes races at Talladega, Texas, Phoenix,  and Homestead-Miami.

As Jimmie Johnson achieved perfection Saturday, the rivals trying to prevent him from winning a fourth consecutive championship seemed more fallible than ever.

Johnson qualified first and was fastest in all three practice sessions en route to winning the NASCAR Banking 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway. It was the first "perfect weekend" (a goal set by crew chief Chad Knaus) of the three-time champion's 286-race career, though some took issues with the criteria.
