Action Point Bets
One of the most exciting ways to bet on sports is to do so by using action points. The reason it makes the betting so exciting is because every single point factors into how much you stand to win or lose on the wager.
Action Points
Action Points is a type of sports wager where the player bets on by how many points his/her selected team will beat the starting points spread or total of the game. You choose how much you wish to bet per action point. Once you decide on how many points your going to select you then decide how much per point you'd like to risk. Your sportsbook will likely have a cap on this as well. You can choose your own cap between 1 and 10 points on Pro-Football games at bookmaker.eu, Once you've decided these two variables, the book will deduct your total potential loss and freeze those funds until the game is final. The losing amount cannot exceed the customer’s available balance.
Action Points Sports Betting Tips
If you bet a game at +2.5, your most likely way to lose that bet is if the opponent beats your team by 3, and you lose to the spread by a mere half point. Whereas if you bet another game at +3.5, your most likely way to win is again if the opponent beats your team by 3, and you beat the spread by a mere half point.
If your confused, basically what we're doing here is making a bet and hoping that it will beat the spread. On this type of wager, you risk $110 for every $100 wagered. Based on $110/$100, you win $100 for every point that the team covers the point spread by, and you lose 110 for every point the team does NOT cover the Point Spread by. One can also lose and win on half points as well. Action Points can only be played on a point spread, i.e. a team to win a game.
Here is a typical payoff chart for action Point bets:
Team A is -7.You choose a cap of 10 points. Wager amount is 10 dollars per point. The amount restricted is 110 dollars. Team A Wins By 1 2 3 4 5 6You Win/Lose -66 -55 -44 -33 -22 -11Team A Wins By 7 8 9 10 11 12You Win/Lose 0 +10 +20 +30 +40 +50
As you can see above, Team A winning by 17, you still only win $100 because of your cap and below Team A losing by 3 you still only lose $110.
Betting on actions points is for the bettor who not only can predict which team will win the game, but by how many points. Your action point is capped from 1 point to a maximum of 10 points. Although, the maximum cap may differ in some sportsbooks.
On this type of wager, you risk $110 for every $100 wagered.
As you can see if you just barely beat or lose to the spread, you don't win or lose much money. But if the game turns out to be much higher or much lower scoring than expected, you win or lose a lot.
